The users of the computers mainly store their data in the hard disk. RAM is also a platform where the computers hold data, but the storing ability of RAM is not permanent. It is an unstable data-storing platform for computers. The hard disks can store the data of the users forever. It plays a major role in storing important information for the modern-day users. They hold all the information until and unless the users delete this data. Its’ speed may not compete with that of the RAM, but it can hold data of huge amounts. The users find the hard disk to be reliable due to its ability to store data for a long time, until and unless the users delete the information, or the device breaks.

PATA (Hard Disks) :
This is the first version of the hard disk that came to the market. This kind of hard disks connects the computer with the ATA interface.
SATA (Hard Disks) :
This is the second generation in the history of hard disks, that came to the market as a modified version of PATA. Their way of connecting with the computer is the same but the cables for the latter are thinner than the former. Most importantly, a SATA hard disk consumes less power than a PATA hard disk.
SCSI (Hard Disks) :
This type of a hard disk has a developed scalability and speed than the others. This is ideal for commercial purposes as it can always work without any problem.
SSD (Hard Disks) :
The most modified hard disk is the SSD. An integrated circuit is present in this type of devices for storing data. It is very popular for its data access and strength.
The hard disk often fail to perform properly. As a result, the users should know how to troubleshoot these problems. If somehow the users lose the data in the hard disk, no one, including the manufacturers, can guarantee its recovery.
